Today I would like to offer you a recipe for a delicious sauce. The yogurt sauce is a quick sauce and does not require cooking, a tasty alternative that goes perfectly with meat, fish, salads and vegetable side dishes. In fact, the yogurt, mixed with aromatic herbs and spices, becomes a light but tasty condiment 🙂
Personally I prefer to use Greek yogurt, to make the sauce more dense. You can use any white yogurt, even more liquid, as long as it is not too sweet or vanilla. There are many variations, because the truth is that this sauce can be flavored with anything, at your leisure. The best known is definitely the tzatziki sauce, it is part of the Greek tradition and has ancient origins. My version is devoid of garlic and vinegar, with a more delicate and light taste.
The yogurt sauce is soft, thick and fragrant. Very quick to prepare, it is flavored with pepper, lemon and parsley. Before serving the sauce it would be advisable to let it rest in the fridge, it is therefore preferable to prepare it in advance. The sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. For a more definite touch, you can opt for a sprinkling of chili before serving 🙂
