Slow days of November, a November started under the banner of rain. Slow days when many things have not changed, but where I can get a little more time for myself, to do what I like most. I take the camera in my hands and I relax creating for my blog. Today a super simple recipe, because even if I have enough time, simplicity is always the best thing. In the end the most successful dishes in the kitchen are the poor ones, made with easily available products. And so I bring the broccoli with walnuts to the table, a perfect side dish to warm my heart on these gloomy days.
Broccoli are among the best known winter vegetables, not only for their healthy virtues but also for their versatility in the kitchen. Broccoli is a vegetable with a strong taste used in different preparations: as a side dish, in soups, seasonings for pasta or rice. They are vegetables rich in minerals, vitamins and fiber. Broccoli are usually eaten cooked, but it is better not to cook them too much. In fact, a prolonged cooking tends to destroy the nutrients. In this recipe I first steamed them for a few minutes, and then quickly passed back to the pan. Obviously if you do not like the crunchy texture, you can continue steaming for a few more minutes.
This is a simple post, an easy recipe, healthy and very good. Broccoli, a handful of walnuts and you’re done! Try and let me know what you think 🙂
If you are a broccoli fan like me, I also suggest you my baked broccoli balls.
